Ceramic products are fired with fire and earth, and there are many manual processes. During shrinkage, bubbles, black spots, and pinholes may occur, which are all allowed by national standards. (If interested, you can check the standards for daily use porcelain)
During the ceramic firing process, the area where the base connects to the chopping board cannot be glazed. The unglazed part of the base has a non-slip effect and usually has slight irregularities, which are not quality issues.
Some ceramic bottoms need this breathable hole to be fired. At high temperatures, moisture can evaporate through the hole, ensuring the body does not crack, the glaze is more even, and the color is brighter, rather than creating gaps. Please do not use steel wool balls or hard objects for cleaning. If there are scratches, gently wipe the porcelain with toothpaste. If there are tea stains, you can clean them with lemon juice or white vinegar.
